From the beginning, RGR has aimed to bring professional motorsports aerodynamics to the Miata platform, creating a comprehensive, performance-driven solution. These side skirts bring us one step closer to that vision.

Design and Function:

With RGR’s Front Splitter and Spats/Wickers, a strong low-pressure zone is created at the front. While the spats help guide airflow behind the front tire, achieving seamless flow management across the car required a new approach. Wider rear tires create drag, and airflow becomes less efficient mid-car, diminishing downforce effectiveness.

These side skirts are engineered to address this by directing air around the front and rear tires, reducing drag and sealing the middle of the car with underskirt airfoils—a unique feature exclusive to RGR. The underskirt airfoils optimize airflow at critical points: the front airfoil directs air from the front tire away from the car, while the rear airfoil works with the integrated rear wicker to streamline flow past the rear tire. This design effectively enhances the car’s overall downforce and stability.

• Constructed from lightweight, powder-coated sheet aluminum with billet aluminum, machined Delrin, and carbon fiber components

Installation: The side skirts are engineered for easy, functional installation. They attach at the front fender’s lower mounting points, the middle pinch welds (allowing access to prevent rust), and the area in front of the rear tire with integrated rear wicker support. A combination of stainless steel hardware and double-sided tape secures them in place.
